00:00The Triathlon Association of the Philippines is preparing for the National Age Group Triathlon this coming weekend in Subic.

00:10This is the story of our teammate, Paolo Salamatin.

00:16The 2025 National Age Group Triathlon from January 25 to 26 in Subic Bay Freeport is a big event for the Philippine triathletes.

00:26According to the Triathlon Association of the Philippines or TRAP President Tom Carrasco,

00:30the competition will determine the rankings of the Philippine athletes and will serve as one of the qualifying events of the competition.

00:40For the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand,

00:44according to TRAP, two athletes from the individual triathlon events and seven triathletes will compete in the team relays in the biennial meet.

00:54The defending champions Andre Kim Remolino and Raven Faith Alcoceba are expected to compete in the triathlon event this weekend.

01:01They are expected to defend their titles in the upcoming sprint distance event.

01:06Some categories such as Super Tri Kids, Under 15, Individual Standard Distance and Team Relay will also be flagged here.

01:15The National Age Group Triathlon is one of the so-called active grassroots programs of the Philippine triathlon

01:21that will serve as one of the first to recruit new athletes with potential to join the national team.

01:29After the competition, TRAP will host the Aquathlon and Duathlon Race Series

01:35that will be held in March at the Vermoza Sports Hub in Cavite.
