00:00I mean, John, when you look at the way Pastercoglou manages his style of play,

00:04and then you look at the current Spurs squad,

00:06what does he need to get the best out of this team?

00:08What's missing? What does Daniel Levy need to give him on the pitch?

00:14Well, I think Angelo know better than anyone.

00:16As you said, they're looking for a step forward, two defenders, a winger,

00:20but he has always been very hands-on in recruitment,

00:24in understanding what he needs and what he wants.

00:28And, again, when I was down in Melbourne,

00:31chatting to everyone who knew him, it seemed like, for a while,

00:34one of his old teammates, who's still very close to him,

00:37after football went into the world of recruitment,

00:39works for a huge global company, Blue Chip,

00:42they hunt chief executives and commercial directors and all that,

00:45and he still uses Ange's advice on recruitment.

00:49He said that, he said, and sometimes when he's delivering a seminar or something,

00:52he'll drop in some quotes from Ange that he's had over the years

00:55about what he's looking for,

00:56and it all comes down to fitting into the culture, first of all.

00:59Yeah, you've got to have the ability,

01:00you've got to be able to play at the tempo that he wants to play at,

01:03but he goes for a player he knows he's going to fit into the culture

01:06that he's building, who's going to be a little bit fearless,

01:09who's going to have all those qualities that he needs.

01:11So, I think everyone can see where the needs are.

01:15I mean, you just have to look at Gray and Dragison.

01:18I mean, Dragison, forgive me, but just not a Premier League centre-half.

01:22Just not.

01:25And I think the question for Spurs is,

01:27sometimes you get the feeling they're like one of these teams

01:30that want to be seen to be going,

01:32oh, we're going all in, we're throwing everything at this,

01:34you know, to sell tickets and to build up the brand and everything.

01:38Look at us, we're really going for it, but they're not.

01:41They're doing enough to make it look like they're going all in,

01:44but they're not going all in in pursuit of a Premier League title

01:47or, you know, lots of trophies, a couple of trophies in a season.

01:50They're just not doing it.

01:51And I think at some point you have to look and say,

01:54well, if this manager, that manager, that manager, that manager,

01:57none of them could deliver on it.

01:59What's the common denominator?
