The Perak State Health Department has conducted a major enforcement operation, seizing over RM2 million worth of unregistered bodybuilding supplements and cosmetics.

State Health Deputy Director of Pharmacy Norhuda Mohammad Tajuddin, said the operation on Tuesday (Jan 21) targeted on six locations including stores and warehouses in Ipoh.

00:20During Tuesday's raids, authorities confiscated 620 different products and one digital device.
00:28The operation specifically focused on identifying and removing unregistered body stimulants
00:34containing anabolic steroids and non-notified cosmetics that were being sold through online channels.
00:41Norhuda said that steroids are classified as controlled substances that require medical supervision
00:47and that while these substances are legitimately used under proper medical guidance,
00:52they are frequently misused for muscle enhancement.
00:55The possession and sale of scheduled poisons without proper licensing
01:00violate section 13 subsection A of the Poisons Act.
01:04Six individuals have been detained for questioning
01:07and authorities are working to trace the product's origin and identify the distribution network involved.
