Chris Kamara shares health update as he says 'it hasn't made much difference'

Former footballer and Sky Sports pundit Chris Kamara issued a health update on BBC Breakfast as he discussed a new initiative to help others with his condition.

00:00Chris, you mentioned as well about your condition. You're a praxier of speech

00:04that you've talked about. How has singing helped you? How is it helping you?

00:09Well, the good news is I could never sing before, so it's not made any difference.

00:21But the truth of the matter is you get more fluency in your voice when you

00:29sing. So it's a form of rehab when you're trying to get your voice back. Singing

00:38helps you. I can sing it. I sang on the Masked Singer in a Scottish accent

00:45basically because the brain works in so many different ways. So for me to talk in

00:55a Scottish accent, I have the fluency. Oh, hello, it's Cammy here. Good morning, how are you?

01:02You know, is it lovely today? Yes it is, but that's not me. So to get my voice

01:10back, I have to keep practicing and singing is a way of enabling that

01:18situation to come back.
