00:00The group of senior citizens is calling for the Senate to pass a bill that will give pensions to all senior citizens in the country.
00:09The senior citizens went outside the Senate to talk to the senators.
00:16According to United Senior Citizens Party List Representative Milagros Aquino Magsaysay,
00:21under the bill, all senior citizens will receive 500 pesos per month as their pension.
00:29There will be no more exemptions, rich or poor, and there is a chance for the amount to increase every month.
00:36The Senate is important for the recognition of the contribution of senior citizens in the country.
00:42Our proposal is that the 4,085,000 indigents will receive 1,000 pesos.
00:52So now, so that all senior citizens can receive, we started with 500 pesos.
01:00Because that's all the budget can afford.
01:03So now, the 7 million who are not receiving their monthly pension,
01:11they will receive 500 pesos a month.
01:15But we have a provision that we will increase every year.
