00:00It was a night of celebration and recognition as Malaysia's top brands were honoured for

00:06their excellence in consumer choice at the Putra Brand Awards.

00:10At the glitzy event held at the Majestic Hotel on Friday, executives and representatives

00:15from over 100 reputable brands gathered in high spirits to celebrate the big night.

00:21Organised by Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia, 4As, in collaboration with

00:27Star Media Group as the official media partner, the premier award is endorsed by Matrade as

00:32the brand champion partner and supported by the Malaysian Advertisers Association, Media

00:37Specialists Association and Malaysian Digital Association.

00:40The Putra Brand Awards and the Putra Aria Awards, the voting is by the people.

00:46It's not by any panel on it, so to be chosen as a winner, the people chose you, so they

00:51remember your brand.

00:52And this year, we have a record 50,000 responses, it's the biggest, most robust research ever

00:59in that sense for Malaysia, so it's chosen by the people.

01:03And this award is free of charge, money cannot buy.

01:07Matrade has been part of this occasion for several years already and we are very honoured

01:13to be invited again as the brand champions partners by 4As and for Matrade, we have been

01:23championing branding for many, many years and some of them have already established

01:29their global footprint.

01:30So we are very happy and pleased to meet with so many brand owners here.

01:37Matrade do hope that we continue to support the event for many years to come and we hope

01:44that more local brands will go global.

01:48Over 160 awards were presented across 24 categories, with platinum, gold, silver and bronze awards

01:54in each category.

01:56The 15th Putra Brand Awards celebrated exceptional achievement with five special honours.

02:02Farm Fresh Berhad took home both the Malaysian Marketer of the Year and Brand Icon Award.

02:07Gardenia was recognised as the most enterprising brand of the year, while Maiden secured the

02:12Personality of the Year title.

02:14Watsons rounded out the top honours by taking home the prestigious Brand of the Year award.

02:19Oh gosh, I think this is a super exciting night for us.

02:24We did not expect to get these three great awards and I need to thank Malaysian for supporting

02:30us and bring what Farm Fresh is today, to be their favourite brand.

02:42The Putra Award itself is THE award in the industry and of course I'm very proud.

02:49It is of course not me, I'm just representing Maiden and I want to thank my family, my staff

02:58who are all behind the so-called content, the branding to get this award.

03:03I mean it's a very proud moment for a local, I mean a lot of brands getting there but for

03:09a local player who started very small, selling in Pasar Malam and over the last 67 years

03:16finally we got the Putra Brand Award.

03:19It means a lot to Gardenia, because Gardenia it is our philosophy to always want to give

03:27it back to the country and it being one of the longest and prestigious bakery brands

03:35for the country, I think we always want to give the best to the consumer for Malaysia.

03:42Thank you Malaysians for recognising Watsons as the Putra Brand of the Year.

03:48This is the first time as a retail brand that we receive this prestigious award and we are

03:56proud today that we are not only the biggest retail brand but the biggest brand in Malaysia.

04:04Meanwhile, Star Media Group has retained its gold award in the Media and Networks category

04:09at the Putra Brand Awards, marking its second consecutive win.

04:13SMG Group Chief Executive Officer Chan Seng Fat said SMG is delighted that the People's Paper

04:18has once again earned gold at the Putra Brand Awards.

04:21I'm very thankful and honoured for Star to have won the gold award again for this year.

04:28This award is a People's Choice Award and it signifies the trust the public has in Star.

04:35Having this award, I'm very confident that it will propel our team to perform and deliver

04:44better for the better society and the country.

04:48Among other prominent brands that won the awards are Petronas, Astro, IJM Land,

04:53Sunway Properties, Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia.

04:56Launched in 2010, the Putra Brand Awards is also known as the People's Choice Awards

05:02where public preferences determine the winning brands.

05:05Public votes and responses are collected and analysed by the market research specialist, Ipsos,

05:11before the winners are chosen and endorsed by the 4As Board of Governors.
