00:00The Department of Trade and Industry, or DTI, will raise prices on 63 basic and essential

00:06items starting next month to pressure from manufacturers.

00:10DTI Secretary Maria Cristina Roque explained that 72% of the 217 listed items will not

00:18have price hikes, while the remaining 28% will see minimal increase, mostly below 10%.

00:26The price hikes are due to rising raw material costs.

00:29Items affected include canned sardines, bread, candles, batteries, coffee, and milk.

00:35Consumers are advised to check the updated Suggested Retail Price, or SRP, guide and

00:41be mindful of any unfair pricing.
