00:00I'm here at Lauriton on the Mid-North Coast where a local bottle shop has just had its
00:06roof blown off from enormous gusts of wind.
00:09The SES, as you can see behind me, are working on top of the roof trying to secure a tarp.
00:15It's understood that the bottle shop was also home to two residential tenants.
00:20Both of those tenants are now in temporary holiday accommodation and fortunately weren't
00:25injured at the time.
00:26In the last 24 hours across the state, the SES has been called out to more than 900 jobs
00:31in the Sydney metro region and over 700 in the Northern Zone, which runs from Gosford
00:36to Tweed Heads.
00:37More than 38,000 people are without power in New South Wales, while the Bureau of Meteorology
00:43is warning residents in the Hunter, Mid-North Coast and Northern Tablelands to expect more
00:48rain.
00:49The Bureau and SES is warning there's a chance of flash flooding with falls of up to 120
00:55millimetres forecast.
