00:13The mother and girlfriend of Ryan Wellings, convicted of abusing his partner Keena Dawes before she took her own life,

00:20are both under police investigation for coaching him to give evidence.

00:26Before the jury was brought back into court on the first day back after Christmas during the six-week trial,

00:31Paul Greeney, KC Prosecuting, told the trial judge, the honorary recorder of Preston, Robert Alfman,

00:37that there had been developments during the break.

00:40Wellings, being held at HMP Preston, was in the middle of giving evidence

00:45and whilst entitled to speak to family and friends, he was not legally allowed to discuss his case with them.

01:04Police were called at around 6.16pm after a teenage boy was threatened with a knife and mugged in Bolton Road.

01:16when he was confronted by four males wearing balaclavas in Ribble Road near Aldi.

01:22One of them brandished a knife and demanded he hand over his phone, vape and silver chain along with some cash.

01:57The family-owned business said it was beginning to see the shoots of recovery from economic slowdown compounded by the pandemic.

02:05However, cost pressures including energy prices had put a heavy strain on the company's finances

02:10and ultimately the cost to reinvest and recover.

02:14The Dog House pub in Bamber Bridge is up for sale at a bargain price of £45,000.

02:30Announcing the news on their business page last week, owner Ryan Griff said that after two years they had made the difficult decision to sell up.

02:46due to them both having other long-term business ventures and the demands of raising young families.
