00:07Decision made on future of jailed Blackpool Victoria Hospital nurse who illegally drugs stroke patients.

00:14Catherine Hudson, who was jailed for seven years and two months in December 2023

00:19for illegally sedating two patients at Blackpool Victoria Hospital and conspiring with a junior colleague to sedate a third,

00:26has been struck off the nursing register by the Nursing and Midwifery Council at a hearing held this week.

00:32Police were alerted by hospital chiefs in November 2018 after a student nurse on a work placement said

00:39Hudson suggested administering unprescribed Zopicline, a sleeping pill, to elderly patient Aileen Scott.

00:46The whistleblower was further troubled when Hudson commented,

00:49Well, she's got a DNR, do not attempt resuscitation in place, so she wouldn't be opened up if she died or, like, if it came to any harm.

00:57She was said to be shocked when Hudson then took a strip of Zopicline from her tunic pocket and administered the sedative.

02:07Sky's hit comedy series Brassic has been filming new scenes in Lancashire this week.

02:12The show, which stars Michelle Keegan and Charlie's Joe Gilgun,

02:17was busy shooting scenes in Burnley Town Park for its seventh series on Skymax.

02:24Burnley Council confirming that Brassic is filming in the town this month,

02:27with filming locations including Rosendale Road and Crown Point.

02:31A council spokesperson said,

02:33I can confirm that Brassic is filming in Burnley throughout July, on and off,

02:38locations including Rosendale Road and Crown Point.

02:42Major M6 crash brings traffic to a standstill as motorists warn to expect severe delays.

02:48Lancashire motorists are warned to expect major delays following a crash on the Stretton Reservoir.

02:54Both northbound and southbound lanes on the M6 have been closed for some time,

02:59from J27 at Standish and J28 at Leyland,

03:03but Lancashire Police recently offered an update to notify drivers that the southbound road has now reopened.

03:09The northbound lane, however, remains closed.

03:12The initial social media post by Lancashire Road Police said,

03:15Please be advised that the M6 is closed in both directions.
