The ESG Positive Impact Awards will return with its third installment and once again be supported by OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Bhd as the main sponsor.

00:19Star Media Group Berhad Group Chief Executive Officer Chan Seng Fatt said OCBC's support
00:24is a testament to its belief in promoting environmental, social and governance principles.
00:49Chan was speaking at the ESG Positive Impact Awards 2024 Power Breakfast at Menara Star
00:55on Tuesday.
00:56Also present was OCBC Bank Malaysia Berhad's Head of Wholesale, Geoffrey Teo, who said
01:02that sustainability is a shared commitment across all shareholders.
01:05I think through this partnership, we aim to advance critical objectives such as environmental
01:11stewardship, social equity and responsible governance.
01:15By highlighting innovative ESG practices, we aspire to inspire the SMEs in the market
01:22and other organizations to embrace sustainable approaches in their operation.
01:27I think together we can achieve and foster a culture of sustainability that benefits
01:34both the community and the environment.

01:42Zainal graced the event as the guest of honour.
01:45In her keynote address, she said that ESG is no longer a framework for reporting, but
01:51rather a tool for sparking changes for businesses.
01:54As we all know, ESG goes beyond environmental concerns.
02:00It is also about people and governance.
02:05Balancing economic growth with inclusivity is not just the right thing to do.
02:11It is vital for long-term success.
02:15To achieve this, empowering micro, small and medium enterprises, MSMEs, is essential.
02:24These businesses are key players and they need guidance to navigate the complexities of ESG.
02:35On my last part, we are stepping up with initiatives like the domestic investment accelerator fund
02:44DIAF to empower domestic SMEs and mid-tier companies in their sustainability journeys.
02:53The Power Breakfast also featured talks and sharing sessions, including ESG Bite Talks
02:58on responsible consumption and production, good health and well-being, and diversity,
03:03equity and inclusion.
