00:00So I'm going to ask you, what does the building, the Cathedral, mean to you?

00:04It's brilliant to be here today with so many people from across the city, from

00:08different businesses, charities and different faiths, to say that all of us

00:12love the Cathedral, not because it's just a place of worship or it's got brilliant

00:17history, but because of what it symbolises about the city and bringing

00:20people together. So all of us want to make sure the Cathedral stays open, it

00:25stays free and we don't start charging people to come in and that we actually

00:29stick our elbows out and make sure we get the funding it needs to survive into

00:32the future. Absolutely, it's really important, there's so many

00:36involved with the city, it helps so many different causes and it's just a place for

00:39people to come as well, as you say, for free of charge. Yeah, look, for around 900

00:43years it's been the beating heart of the city. Our job is to make sure it stays

00:47that beating heart into the future. It's not just about the past and the history

00:50that people come and see with this wonderful building, it's about ensuring

00:53that it's fighting fit for the future for all of those major things of

00:58worship, the carol service, the Christmas fair, but also some of those fun things

01:02that bring people into the Cathedral. It really is our Cathedral and it's our job

01:06to pull our weight now it's in a time of need. It's a time for people to come

01:09together to, you know, save the building, yeah. Absolutely, this is about, you know,

01:13I think every single person in Peterborough has a story about the

01:16Cathedral, whether it's coming to a service, to an event, seeing their

01:20children graduate and being part of their education story with the big

01:23services happen, it's part of our story, we've all got a job to play in making

01:26sure it stays here for the future.
