Shear line, ‘amihan’ to affect parts of Luzon, Visayas

Overcast skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected in parts of Luzon and Visayas on Saturday, Jan. 11, due to weather systems being monitored by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).  In its weather forecast, PAGASA said the shear line affects the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas, while the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” is affecting Northern and Central Luzon. 00:00The shear line or the combination of hot and cold air continues to circulate here in the eastern part of Southern Luzon and Visayas

00:09where today it will continue to rain, especially here in the Bicol region and in some areas of Eastern Visayas.

00:18So, continue to be careful for our countrymen there in the high winds of flooding and landslides.

00:25Meanwhile, the North-East Monsoon or AMIHA will continue to fall during the cold season here in Northern and Central Luzon.

00:33And there is also this cloudy sky that will be accompanied by heavy rains in a large part of Northern Luzon

00:40even here in the eastern part of Central Luzon today.

00:44And at the moment, we are not monitoring any typhoons or low-pressure areas that could affect our country.

00:53And for the time being, this Saturday, there is a cloudy sky that will still experience rains

01:00here in the part of Mimaropa, even in the Bicol region.

01:04And these rains are moderate to heavy and sometimes intense rains, especially here in the Bicol region.

01:13So again, continue to be careful for our countrymen there in the high winds of floods and landslides

01:25Meanwhile, the North-East Monsoon or AMIHA will continue to fall during the cold season

01:36even in the part of Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and in the area of Quezon.

01:42Meanwhile, here in Metro Manila, even in the lower parts of Luzon,

01:46it will be partly cloudy until the sky is cloudy.

01:50The weather that we will experience will still be partly cold, especially in the early hours and at night.

01:56And we still have the possibility of isolated rains that will fall in AMIHA.

02:02The average temperature here in Metro Manila is from 23 to 30 degrees Celsius.

02:09Meanwhile, in the part of Visayas and Mindanao,

02:12the whole part of Visayas will still experience cloudy skies with rains that will still fall on the shoreline.

02:20And again, the rains that we will experience here in the summer provinces

02:25are possible to be moderate to heavy rains that can still fall on floods and landslides.

02:32And the Intertropical Conversion Zone or ITCZ,

02:36will also experience rains here in the Davao Region and in the Sok Sargen area.

02:44And in the lower parts of Mindanao, we will only experience isolated rains,

02:51including localized thunderstorms.

02:53And during severe thunderstorms, these rains are still possible to be moderate

02:58to heavy rains that can still fall on floods and landslides.

03:04So be careful for our countrymen.

03:07The average temperature in Cebu is from 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.

03:11And in Davao, it is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.

03:17And in the next three days, we will see that we will not have a storm or low-pressure area

03:22that can enter or be formed inside our area of responsibility.

03:27But some parts of our country will still experience rains that will fall on the shoreline.

03:33Where we still have heavy to intense rains that we will experience today.

03:38Here in the northern part of Samar, Albay, Sorsogon, and in the area of Catanduanes.

03:44Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains in Masbate, Camarines Sur, and in the area of Camarines Norte.

03:51Meanwhile, tomorrow, heavy to intense rains will continue in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur,

03:59even in the area of Catanduanes.

04:01And moderate to heavy rains in Quezon, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and in the area of Northern Samar

04:09will still fall on the shoreline.

04:13And by Monday, we will still experience moderate to heavy rains in Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur,

04:22Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, and in the area of Catanduanes.

04:27Again, we will continue to be careful for our countrymen who are still prone to floods and landslides.

04:34And also, we will be aware of our LGUs.

04:37And we will also be alert, especially in the areas prone to floods and landslides.

04:44Even in the areas that have experienced continuous rains since the past few days.

04:52And in the area of Amihan, we also have a high-level gale warning

04:57in the coastal areas of Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, in the western coast of Pangasinan,

05:04in Cagayan, along with Babuyan Islands, in Isabela, Aurora, in the northern and eastern coast of Polilio Islands,

05:11even in the area of Calaguas Islands, and in the northern and eastern coast of Catanduanes,

05:17where we do not allow floods.

05:20Our countrymen should also be aware of the small sea vehicles.
