00:00The effects of the three weather systems in our country are still ongoing.
00:04The first is the North-East Monsoon or Windy Season that affects the Northern and Central Luzon.
00:11The second is the hot Easter Leaves or the wind from the Pacific Ocean
00:15that also brings hot weather and heavy rains in Visayas and Mindanao.
00:20And the shear line or the line where the cold and hot Easter Leaves meet
00:26will also bring heavy rains in some parts of Southern Luzon in the coming days.
00:32Meanwhile, based on our latest satellite animation,
00:35we haven't seen any typhoons around the Philippine Area of Responsibility
00:39even though we are monitoring cloud clusters or clusters of clouds
00:42here outside our part in the east coast of Mindanao
00:45associated with the Intertropical Convergence Zone
00:48or the winds from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
00:53Currently, there is a high chance of rain here in Cagayan Valley, Aurora,
00:57as well as in the Cordillera Region, Calinga, Apayao, Mountain Province, and Ipugao.
01:03This is the effect of the North-East Monsoon or Windy Season.
01:06It is mild to moderate and sometimes strong when it is close to the mountains.
01:10Be careful of floods and landslides there.
01:13Meanwhile, here in the Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, and the remaining part of Central Luzon,
01:18there are still partly cloudy to cloudy skies and there is a chance of dryness and a brief drizzle.
01:24Here in the Bicol Region and the Quezon Province,
01:28there is still a high chance of heavy rain and sometimes thunderstorms.
01:34This is the effect of the Shire Line or the cold and hot winds
01:38that will also cause floods and landslides.
01:41Meanwhile, in Metro Manila, the remaining part of Calabarzon and almost the whole of Mimaropa
01:45is partly cloudy to cloudy skies.
01:48There are areas in Laguna, Marinduque, and here in Romblo
01:52where there will be frequent rains at some point.
01:54The remaining part of Luzon has isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
01:59For Metro Manila, the temperature is from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:03It is cold here in Northern and Central Luzon as well as Baguio City from 16 to 25 degrees Celsius.
02:11For our fellow countrymen in the southern part of Palawan
02:14and here in the areas of Panay Island, Aklan, Capiz, and Northern Samar,
02:20we have mostly cloudy skies.
02:22Here in Southern Palawan, it is the effect of the Easter lease.
02:25In the northern portion of Visayas, it is also partly the effect of the Shire Line.
02:29The remaining part of Visayas and Palawan is partly cloudy and sometimes sunny.
02:34However, it will still be accompanied by heavy rains and landslides,
02:38especially in the afternoon and evening.
02:40The temperature in a large portion of Palawan and Visayas is from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.
02:49For our fellow countrymen in Mindanao, it is still early in the morning.
02:52There are chances of rain showers here in the areas of Surigao, Davao Region, Basilan, and Buanga City.
03:00These are isolated rain showers.
03:02The remaining part of Mindanao is still partly cloudy and sometimes sunny or fair weather conditions.
03:09However, it will still be accompanied by heavy rains and landslides that usually last for one or two hours.
03:16In a large portion of Zamboanga City and Davao City, the temperature is expected to be from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:24Currently, due to the strong north-east monsoon,
03:28we have gale warnings in the northern part of Luzon,
03:31up to 4.5 meters above sea level,
03:35in Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte.
03:39These waves are dangerous to small sea vessels, especially to fishermen.
03:44In the coming days, we still expect strong waves in the northern part of Luzon.
03:49Gale warnings may be added in areas with gale warnings and high waves.
03:54The rest of Luzon is also likely to have waves up to 3 meters.
03:58While here in Visayas and Mindanao, within the next two days,
04:01it is possible to have waves up to 2 meters above sea level.
04:06And for our 3-day weather forecast,
04:09the different weather systems are still there,
04:11just like the north-east monsoon in the northern and central Luzon.
04:15It will still bring some cold temperatures.
04:18Light to moderate rains in Cagayan Valley, Aurora,
04:21and nearby areas in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
04:25For the shoreline, it will still bring rain.
04:27And please take note, sometimes, our shoreline will experience heavy rains.
04:30In some areas of Quezon, Bicol Region, and nearby areas,
04:34like Rizal, Laguna, Romblon, and Marinduque,
04:38it will still bring rain and landslides.
04:41And it is still possible for us to have high rainfall advisories and heavy rainfall warnings.
04:47By Monday and Tuesday of December 16 and 17,
04:51there is a possibility of a low-pressure area.
04:54Here in the eastern coast of Mindanao, based on the Climatology Division of PAG-ASA,
04:59this low-pressure area has a low chance of having a typhoon.
05:02But it will bring rain and the trough of this low-pressure area in Caraga, Davao Region,
05:09Eastern Visayas, and nearby areas in Mindanao will also be affected.
05:13Please be careful of floods and landslides.
05:15And always stay tuned for updates from PAG-ASA
05:18because the low-pressure area in this part of Mindanao will be affected by a typhoon.
05:24But it is not expected that there will be a typhoon.
05:28Meanwhile, the effects of the typhoon will continue in the northern and central Luzon.
05:32It will still bring cold weather and mild to moderate rains there.
05:37While here in the southern Luzon, the effects of the shoreline will continue
05:41and it is possible that the rains in Bicol Region, Quezon,
05:45and nearby areas in Samar Provinces and Mimaropa will also be affected.
05:49So, please incorporate these strong rains in a large part of the country.
05:55Especially that we have outdoor activities, year-end gatherings, and Christmas parties early next week.
06:01So, make sure that we have an umbrella.
06:03And always coordinate with PAG-ASA for possible suspension
06:07and for the floods and landslides that will occur in the coming days.
