00:00Venezuelans, today, January 10, I leave a record for our history of the freedom of Venezuela.

00:09Yesterday, January 9, hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans took to the streets with civility, courage and with a deep love.

00:21More than 180 protests took place throughout Venezuela and more than 150 cities around the world were activated.

00:30Each one of the Venezuelans who took to the streets represents the best of what we are

00:37and the millions that make up the Venezuelan nation, outside and inside.

00:44I saw it with you. That tri-colored river is the most powerful thing I have seen in my life

00:53and it fills me with pride because despite the deployment of a brutal repressive force, we defeated fear.

01:04Yesterday, my deep confidence that freedom is near was ratified.

01:10They lost yesterday.

01:13The total militarization of Caracas and other cities is a demonstration of who is afraid of whom,

01:20of how much fear they have of the people.

01:24Today, January 10, Maduro consolidates a coup d'état.

01:30In front of Venezuelans and in front of the world, they decided to cross the red line

01:36that officializes the violation of the national constitution.

01:41They trample on our constitution.

01:45Maduro also violates the constitution flanked by the dictators of Cuba and Nicaragua.

02:35When I left the huge concentration in Chacao, many citizens surrounded me and accompanied me

02:41until I got on a motorcycle that was going to take me out.

02:45Two other motorcycles accompanied me.

02:48At the height of the Gustavo Herrera High School, they tried to intercept us several motorcycles

02:54with armed men of the Bolivarian National Police.

02:59They had long guns outside.

03:02We were able to move forward and at the height of the Altamira distributor I heard several shots.

03:07The motorcycles of the Bolivarian National Police intercepted us.

03:12An officer asked me my name to confirm that it was me.

03:18Immediately, from behind, I was abruptly and strongly pulled off the motorcycle

03:24and they mounted me in another one, in the middle of two men.

03:29This is how they are, they attack a woman from behind.

03:35On the way, I heard a couple of times that they were heading for Boleica.

03:42After arriving near that area, they suddenly separated me

03:48and told me that they had the order for me to leave.

03:51To be able to do so, they asked me to record a video as a life sentence.

03:57It took me several hours to get away from the area and to protect myself again.

04:04It was then when I found out that the driver of one of the motorcycles that accompanied me

04:11to the exit of the demonstration was injured in one of his legs.

04:18He was shot when the Bolivarian National Police officers shot us.

04:24He was also taken to prison.

04:27I am fine now, although I have severe pains and contusions in some parts of my body.

04:35It is evident that what happened to me yesterday

04:38demonstrates the profound contradictions that exist within the regime.

04:43Their erratic behavior is another demonstration of how they are divided inside.

04:51Obviously, this was also added to by the immediate statements and warnings

04:56of world leaders, governments from all over the world,

05:01which made them understand the mistake they had made by violently kidnapping me.

05:07I want to express my deepest gratitude to the democratic allies of Venezuela

05:13who are with us at this time.

05:16We all know that from today on, they will put even more pressure on Maduro

05:23to make him understand that this is over.

05:29Yesterday, the regime launched a brutal repression,

05:33pursuing and arresting more than 20 Venezuelans.

05:38Some of them are leaders in two states, Aragua, Bolivar, Carabobo, Cogedes,

05:44Lara, Miranda, Monagas, Portuguesa, Trujillo, Yaracuy, Zulia and Caracas,

05:51including some journalists.

05:54They are our heroes and we are going to free them all.

05:58To their family, companions and friends, my heart is with you.

06:02You know that no one is left behind here.

06:07About our elected president, Edmundo González Urrutia,

06:11I want to convey to you several things that we have agreed on.

06:14We have been in permanent communication during his extraordinary journey

06:19through the nations of our hemisphere,

06:21where he has been received with the honors of head of state

06:25and with the love of thousands and thousands of Venezuelans who live in these countries.

06:32Edmundo will come to Venezuela to swear as constitutional president of Venezuela

06:40at the right time, when the conditions are adequate.

06:47In his delirious paranoia, the regime has not only closed the airspace of Venezuela,

06:53but has activated the entire air defense system.

06:59We have therefore evaluated all this and decided that it is not convenient

07:04for Edmundo to enter Venezuela today.

07:08I have asked him not to do so,

07:12because his integrity is fundamental for the final defeat of the regime

07:18and the transition to democracy, which is very close.

07:26Venezuelans, Maduro will not be able to govern by force

07:32even in Venezuela, which decided to be free.

07:38Our country is more united than ever in its political direction and in its homes.

07:45Yesterday we showed that we are not afraid,

07:49and I know that we will be many more in the streets of Venezuela and the world.

07:55Today I ask each Venezuelan to exercise their right to protest.

08:03Maduro consolidated the coup d'état and the violation of our constitution.

08:10It is time to do what is necessary to restore it.
