00:00Education in an island in La Union was made by the Bankang Pangkabuhaya,
00:05which is now called Bankaronungan.
00:07The details are reported by Anthony Ian Reyes of PIA Ilocos Region.
00:14The former beneficiary of the Alternative Learning System,
00:17or ALS, is Jared Doctolero.
00:19He is now the operator of Bankang Binansagang-Bankaronungan,
00:22a project of the Bawangnort District of the Schools Division of La Union
00:26with the aim of bringing education to Solomon Island in the town of Bawang.
00:31Through Bankaronungan,
00:33it is easier to bring ALS teachers to the island
00:37where there are 26 families and 86 individuals,
00:42most of whom are in need of living and education.
00:45This project of ALS, Bankaronungan,
00:50has helped us,
00:54teachers,
00:56and families.
01:00Therefore, the existence of the Bankaronungan project is of great help
01:03to the teachers, especially to the beneficiaries of the project.
01:07We will come up with a program of Bankaronungan
01:10so that we can bring education to Solomon Island, CLC,
01:14which is now functional
01:17and is now used by the teachers of the Bawangnort District.
01:21I graduated from Mati High School
01:23and I used to work as a teacher.
01:26So, thanks to the ALS,
01:30I was able to continue my studies
01:34after I graduated from Mati High School.
01:36Bankang is not only the teacher of the land,
01:38it is also the hope for the dreams of Solomon Islanders.
