00:13Dogman is the head of the dog, a body of a human,
00:15and Dogman's trying to capture Petey, the world's most evilest cat.

00:21I think Petey is a super cool relatable character,
00:24because he's very flawed and had a tough past,
00:27which made him rather evil and upset.
00:30Enough about this Dogman!
00:31I gotta take over the world!
00:33Buckle up!
00:35This super cop solves crimes and even plays piano for the old folks.
00:40I'm a big fan of the books,
00:42so I was familiar with all the characters and I was familiar with the world.
00:45How evil can one cat be?
00:47Pretty evil!
00:49A lot of adventures happen, it's a lot of action.
00:51It's really just really funny.
00:53Dogman!
00:54You have all the strengths of a dog and all the skills of a kung fu cop.

01:04It was really important to stay true to the style of the books.
01:07The simpleness of the drawings, the way the lettering is done,
01:10all of these things are part of the comedy.

01:14What we ended up on was something that we call high-end handmade.
01:17We wanted everything to feel like it was hand-painted.

01:22We want to retain that charm, so there are crooked lines, there's brush strokes.
01:26The character designs are very similar to the book.

01:34It's just fun, it's a different type of animation.
