00:00A light aircraft crashed near Rottnest Island in Perth, Australia on Tuesday afternoon,
00:05killing two tourists from Switzerland and Denmark, along with the pilot.
00:10The aircraft was carrying six tourists.
00:12Three of them sustained injuries, while one escaped unharmed.
00:16The bodies of the three deceased were recovered from the wreckage by water police divers last
00:22night.
00:23The victims include a 65-year-old woman, a passenger, who we understand was a Swiss tourist,
00:31a 60-year-old man, a passenger, believed to be a tourist from Denmark, and a 34-year-old
00:39man who was the pilot who lived in Perth.
00:42For something so tragic to happen in front of so many people, at a place that provides
00:49so much joy, especially at this time of the year, is deeply upsetting.
00:54Tragically, we have lost three lives.
00:57We understand of the seven passengers, three were couples and the pilot.
01:05Three of those people are recovering in hospital, ranging from very minor injuries to a very
01:11serious hand injury.
01:13We are working with all of those survivors to understand what their observations were
01:20of the crash.
01:21Local media reported that the plane collided with the water after take-off, before coming
01:26to rest partially submerged.
01:28Authorities have started an investigation.
