00:00Absolutely delighted this is something that we've been looking to achieve now for for several years
00:06and really it's great to see the progress being made at long last actually to be here and to see
00:12the just the scale of the the building is quite impressive and looking forward to to seeing the
00:18construction and and finally to be able to deliver the service to the people of Pendle.
00:24I think it's absolutely amazing development I know I've been involved right from the
00:28initial drawing and plans to make sure it's fit for what my officers need to do to be able to
00:33police in this area of Lancashire and it's really good to see and I live locally so I'll be watching
00:39it build up over a period of time but to come here today and actually stand inside the footprint of
00:43the building absolutely amazing just to see the size and scale of it and I'm sure my officers
00:47when they're moving will be absolutely thrilled with what it looks like. We've got police stations
00:52in Nelson and Coles and the cost of the refurbishment and the maintenance of those buildings
00:58has become such that really it's better invested in in the future what police need now to deliver
01:05the service but also looking ahead to 10, 15, 20 years and into the future what can deliver the
01:13best possible service for the people of Lancashire and the people of Pendle and that's what we've got
01:18here facility new facility near the motorway that can actually deliver a quick effective efficient
01:26service and and it is cost effective. With the way the construction is going at the moment and I've
01:30got to say the developers have been really really good how they've the time scales that they've
01:34progressed with so looking probably in mid-2026 which might seem like a long time off but it's
01:39only 18 months and this has been here for six months I've seen such a difficult changes from
01:44from the outset it's really good to see and hopefully within 18 months I'll be sat here
01:48having another conversation opening the the building up is really good. Obviously we're
01:53really looking forward to to seeing how this evolves and making sure that it works you know
02:00because it is investment in the community investment in the service but also getting
02:05local people involved in the building of this as well and that's really important social value is a
02:11part of what we're creating here. This is state-of-the-art policing so this this is a brand
02:17new station because where the officers work now they were built in the 70s they're no longer fit
02:20for purpose and the amount of work that's needed to keep them going and maintain them is a heck of
02:25a lot of money so that investment here in a brand new police station where officers could come here
02:30do a really really good job feel like they are supported by Clive Grenshaw and the Chief
02:35Constable and the work that they want to do be really invaluable it's a really prime location
02:40spot for us from my responding point of view it's next to the M65 motorway it's next to the
02:44Paddy and Bypass and getting to Nelson, Colne, Bray very very quickly and that's exactly what
02:49one of the things we're here to do.
