More than 30 dolphins dead in southern Russia oil spill, animal rescue group says

Fuel oil spilled out of two tankers nearly three weeks ago in the Kerch Strait, about 250 kilometres from Sevastopol on the southwest of the occupied Crimean Peninsula.

00:29The media reported that both tankers were carrying around 62,000 barrels of oil products

00:36In late December, officials said more than 3,300 tons of low-grade fuel had been spilled

00:41into the strait.

00:43Officials in Crimea declared a regional emergency on Saturday after oil was detected on the

00:48shores of Sevastopol.

00:50That came a week after a similar declaration was made in Russia's southern Krasnodar region

00:54after fuel oil began washing up there.
