00:0030 years ago, I had a producer tell me that I was a popcorn actress, and at that time,

00:12I made that mean that this wasn't something that I was allowed to have, that I could do

00:17movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but that I couldn't be acknowledged.

00:21And I bought in, and I believed that.

00:25And that corroded me over time to the point where I thought a few years ago that maybe

00:31this was it.

00:32Maybe I was complete.

00:33Maybe I've done what I was supposed to do.

00:36And as I was at kind of a low point, I had this magical, bold, courageous, out of the

00:44box, absolutely bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance, and the universe

00:51told me that you're not done.

00:53And I am so grateful to Corley for trusting me, to step in and play this woman, for Margaret

01:01for being the other half of me that I couldn't have done without, for looking out for me,

01:08to the people who've been with me for over 30 years, Kevin Uvain, Jason Weinberg, everybody

01:13at CAA, Untitled, Lead, all of the people who've stood by me, especially the people

01:19who've believed in me when I haven't believed in myself.
