00:00People gathered at the Bourbon Street area in New Orleans on Saturday to pay tribute
00:09to the victims of the New Year's Day truck attack.
00:12The mourners grieved at a makeshift memorial set up in the area adorned with crosses bearing
00:17pictures of victims and candles and flowers.
00:23One of our good friends, Elliot Wilkerson, passed away in the tragedy that happened on
00:27Bourbon Street the other night on New Year's Eve.
00:29Right now, I'm lost for words, really.
00:31This is a tragedy where we got to deal with all this violence from all around the world.
00:38Why here?
00:39This is a tourist city and people come from all over the world for our music, our food,
00:45our energy, but there's residents here who, after everybody leaves, after all of this
00:51is over, we still have to deal with this.
00:54And I think one of the best support that the families could get is to show that the
00:59residents of New Orleans is here.
01:01We stand by y'all.
01:03We support y'all.
01:04We are so sorry that this happened.
01:07Here, like, it's terrible.
01:12I think that we should honor and pay tribute to those young lives that got lost.
01:18All those young kids that came and celebrated New Year's.
01:23I think that's important for people to remember what times we're living at, the times, the
01:29bad times we're living at, and a bunch of crazy people out there trying to harm innocent lives.
01:36I feel that people were not expecting this and to start the year like this, it's overwhelming
01:42and we feel very sorry for all the victims here.
01:46The families.
01:47The families.
01:48People that they left behind.
01:50Exactly.
01:53During the incident in the early hours of January 1st, 14 people were killed and 30
02:00others injured after a U.S. Army veteran drove his truck into a crowd of revelers in New
02:05Orleans' French Quarter with an ISIS flag draped over his vehicle.
