00:00Hello again, it is still November but for some of us it feels more like winter with some very cold air across us and
00:07The risk of some disruptive snow. That's because we have a frontal system
00:11That's making its way across the UK and as it bumps into the cold Arctic air across northern northeastern parts of the UK
00:18We are likely to see some of this rain turning to snow
00:22So as we go through this evening
00:24Already we have some snow over the higher ground of Northern Ireland and some wintry showers across parts of Scotland
00:30But it's perhaps across northern parts of England
00:32maybe North Wales where we're likely to see the most disruptive weather with
00:36Potentially well 20 centimeters of snow quite possible over modest higher ground
00:41I think 5 to 10 centimeters looks most likely and we could even see some accumulations to lower levels
00:47There is some uncertainty as to exactly where we're going to see this boundary between the the rain and the wintry Ness
00:52And so do be aware that may not be exactly where it's shown behind me
00:56But nonetheless the risk of some disruption some difficult driving conditions first thing tomorrow morning
01:01across parts of northern England and North Wales
01:04Further north across parts of Scotland some clearer skies for many here and those wintry showers continuing in the far north and again
01:10We could have some disruption because of the snow and also some icy patches as well further south
01:15It's a cloudier story and the milder air clings on here. And so temperatures not dropping as much
01:21There'll be some outbreaks of rain as well
01:22But some places staying in double figures much colder elsewhere further north particularly across
01:27Parts of Scotland where we have those clear skies now last night was the coldest night of the season so far
01:33It's likely that tonight will be even colder could get to minus 8 perhaps even colder than that
01:38So a really frosty a harsh cold start to the day for some of us tomorrow morning
01:43There will also be those wintry hazards around so some snow lying on the ground
01:47But the rain the snow largely clears away towards the east as we go through the morning and then things turn a lot drier
01:53and a lot brighter for many of us still though some wintry showers coming in from the north across parts of Scotland and
01:59There will be some outbreaks of rain towards the southwest as well
02:02But like I said for most it is going to turn much drier much brighter, but also pretty chilly
02:08We stick with that northerly wind and that's bringing that cold Arctic air
02:12And so well temperature is going to be several degrees below average for the time of year and feeling even colder than this
02:18When you factor in the wind chill as well not a huge amount changes as we go through Tuesday evening
02:24So many places having clear skies we continue with that northerly wind
02:28So we continue to see showers piling down from the north and if you are exposed to these showers
02:34So exposed to the northerly wind so parts of northern Scotland Northern Ireland down
02:39Parts of Wales and also down the eastern side of England here
02:42We're likely to see some further showers and they could have a wintry element to them as well
02:48Temperatures again are going to plummet. It's going to be a very cold night quite widely
02:52we're going to see quite a harsh frost and
02:55Particularly across parts of the south where it's a mild night as we go through into Tuesday morning
02:59Wednesday morning is going to be markedly colder here much frostier
03:03You'll probably need to scrape the windscreen of your car if you're heading out early because it is going to be
03:08So cold to start as we go through Wednesday itself then and actually well
03:12It's not too dissimilar to Tuesday for many places a lot of bright fine weather around but still bitterly cold
03:18And there will still be these showers in places exposed to that northerly wind
03:22So still northern parts of Scotland and down some western and eastern fringes as well
03:26Most places avoiding these though and just having a well a fine
03:30Day and feeling pretty wintry even though it is still autumn for the time being like I said feeling cold
03:36Temperatures several degrees below average for the time of year now as we go later on this week
03:42We are going to continue with that northerly wind for a time
03:45So continue to see some further showers watch out there could be some more persistent snow coming through at times
03:50There hints that there's a low chance of something coming through in the southwest as we go through Thursday night into Friday
03:55So that's definitely one to watch no guarantee and then watch out for another area of low pressure
04:01That's developing as we go towards the weekend. This could bring some very unsettled weather
04:05So there is still a lot to look towards as we go through the next few days
04:10Remember, there will be a week ahead forecast available on our YouTube channel with Alex Deacon also available on our app as well
04:17Otherwise, I'll see you again soon. Bye. Bye
