00:00Malacanang believes in the legality of the 2025 national budget

00:04that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. strengthened.

00:08The Budget Department also confirmed that the education sector

00:12is still the largest part of our national fund.

00:25Yes, Angelique Pinurin, the Department of Budget and Management,

00:28and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in his use of veto powers

00:33in adding to the national budget for 2025.

00:39Angelique, President Marcos Jr. also added

00:42more than Php 6 trillion national budget for the next year.

00:46More than Php 194 billion worth of projects and online items

00:50will be added because this is considered not in line with the priorities of the government.

00:55In Malacanang's press briefing earlier,

00:57DBM said that the education sector is still a top priority

01:01in line with infrastructure and others.

01:05Php 1.053 trillion.

01:09Well, the DPWH is Php 1.034 trillion.

01:15That's it. So, education comes first.

01:23Angelique, DBM Secretary Amena Pangandaman also clarified

01:26that this is also because of the projects of the DPWH

01:29that are worth more than Php 26 billion.

01:32DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan was right

01:36because they consider that the projects are not supporting

01:41the socio-economic agenda of the current administration

01:44and need to be studied.

01:48There are a lot of local projects that are not ready for implementation

01:52and it will take us some time anyway to make sure that we can implement it immediately.

02:00I think we can postpone it for the time being.

02:06Angelique, according to DBM,

02:08projects such as assistance to the Kaposangkita Program or AKAP will remain.

02:12But before the funds are released,

02:14the DSWD, DOLE, and NEDA will need to monitor

02:19for the continued implementation of these projects

02:21for the real needs.

02:23Meanwhile, in our assistance,

02:25Executive Secretary Lucas Belsamin also assured

02:28that the budget for 2025 is in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.
