00:00I recognise that a lot of parents work hard to be able to send their children to private schools but all parents are aspirational for their children, including the 94% of children who are in our state schools.
00:14And so by getting rid of the tax exemptions that existed before for private schools, we're able to invest £1.7 billion of money into our state schools so that they can recruit and retain the very best teachers so that all children can get a great start in life.
00:31Every single penny of that money will go into our state schools to ensure that every child gets the best start in life and that is so often through being able to recruit and retain the best teachers, especially in some of those shortage subjects.
00:45And that's good for the children but it's also good for our economy that we have young children, young people leaving our state schools well qualified and ready for the world of work.
