00:34president, Mahamad Idris Deby Itno.

00:37The MPS held onto power and does not face any serious opposition this time either, because

00:47most of the political opposition is boycotting this election, calling people to stay at home.

00:55They are describing this vote as a sham.

00:59President Deby's government, however, has presented this weekend's elections as a key

01:05stage in the transition to democratic rule.
