00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s administration's eight-point agenda is

00:05food security in an effort to achieve the target that no Filipino will be hungry.

00:12Let's find out the details in the story of Noel Talacan.

00:15In this year, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. encouraged the production of agricultural products

00:35despite the various challenges faced by the agricultural sector in the country.

00:41That's why he implemented several programs and measures,

00:45such as expanding the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund, or RCEF.

00:53House Bill No. 10381, it shall be known as Republic Act No. 12078,

00:59entitled, An Act Amending Republic Act No. 8178, or the Agricultural Tarification Act,

01:05as amended by Republic Act No. 11203.

01:10Before the end of this year, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. passed the amended law,

01:17Republic Act No. 12078, or the Agricultural Tarification Act.

01:23The RCEF was extended for six years,

01:27a fund to help farmers improve their production

01:33and become more competitive despite the challenges in globalization and poverty.

01:40President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. also gave that the reduction in post-harvest loss of rice

01:48can benefit almost 3.4 million Filipinos.

01:58Under the RCEF Mechanization Program,

02:01the President is a part of a machinery for agriculture worth Php 19 million,

02:08where it is received by 10 farmers cooperatives and associations of Nueva Ecija.

02:17Various production and post-harvest machinery worth Php 15.5 million

02:24can be distributed to the Shamna Farmers Cooperatives and Associations in the province of Antique.

02:31Aside from this, the President also answered land loans and distributed the land to farmers

02:39to increase their income and increase their harvest of agricultural produce.

02:46It is proven this November that the President is a part of more than 2,900 Certificates of Condonation

02:57with Release of Mortgage and 34 Certificates of Land Ownership Award

03:03for more than 2,000 farmers in Pampanga.

03:08As for the President, Php 206.38 million was saved by the government

03:15from the debt of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries.

03:23One of the challenges to have more and better harvest is the El Niño and the tornadoes.

03:32That is why the President was divided by Php 10,000 under Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk and Families or PAF.

03:45It is proven this December that the President is a part of PAF in Albay and Camarines Sur

03:52where it will reach Php 100 million worth of land with Php 10,000 farmers and fishermen.

04:04Just this September, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. launched the Agri Puhunan Program

04:10also known as the Department of Agriculture or DA.

04:15The purpose of this program is to increase their productivity and income

04:19by providing cheap funds, financial assistance and a market ready for their harvest.

04:32For the dry cropping season in 2024-2025,

04:37it will fund 50,000 hectares of land for farmers and cooperatives

04:43under the National Regulation of Irrigation,

04:50in the irrigation systems of the Upper Pampanga River, Magat River Integrated Irrigation System

04:58and NGIA systems serving the Cordillera Administrative Region, OCAD.

05:04The Marcos Jr. Administration will continue to make steps and programs

05:09that are beneficial for the farmers of the country

05:13in order to have a good harvest and be able to cope with challenges, globalization and famine.

05:20In the new Philippines, the agricultural sector of the country is important for the development of our economy.
