00:37While Lady Dimitrescu remains the pinnacle of video games' most alluring villainesses,

00:41one person who certainly wasn't respectfully simping over her was Ethan Winters, likely

00:46on account that she cut his hand off.

00:48Just when it looked like he was home free, Lady D comes out of nowhere and uses her razor

00:52nails to once again completely sever Ethan's hand from the wrist, not only creating a most

00:57unfortunate running gag, but also adding to Lady D's dominating aura.

01:01We've heard of Step On Me Energy, but Lacerate My Ligaments, yikes.

01:11Feeling Blue, Pokemon Red and Blue

01:19Picture it.

01:20You're a 90's kid.

01:21You've trained your Pokemon to their limits and assembled the ultimate team.

01:23Finally, you beat the last of the Elite Four and are ready to claim the title of champion.

01:28Then you find out that your rival, somehow, right before you showed up, did all of that

01:32and is now sitting pretty as the best that nobody ever was.

01:35It was infuriating.

01:36Though it certainly served as adequate motivation to throw our all into the final challenge

01:41and best him.

01:52Snatching the Master Sword

01:53The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword

02:01Ghirahim may not have a legacy like Ganondorf to his name, but he is filled to the brim

02:05with psychotic panache and a creep factor that goes to 11.

02:09And for that, we have to give him his due, especially after he embarrassed Link so badly

02:13during their first encounter.

02:15While acting as a tutorial boss, he easily stops every slash with one hand, and if you

02:19fail to break free of his grasp, he'll straight up steal the Master Sword.

02:22We're not sure even Demise burned Link that badly.

02:31Raphael Sings His Own Song

02:33Baldur's Gate 3

02:40When this devil decides to take care of business, he doesn't cut any corners.

02:43Should the player choose to stand against Raphael and invade his house of hope, it naturally

02:47leads to a clash of hellish proportions.

02:49Not only is Raphael one of the most challenging battles in the game thanks to a legion of

02:53demonic followers, but also a true master of ceremonies on account that he also sings his

02:58own theme.

03:01It's the ultimate display of Raphael's endless narcissism.

03:08Not that we can blame him, it's an absolute banger.

03:19Vader Unleashed

03:20Star Wars Jedi – Fallen Order

03:30Few pieces of media have instilled fear for this Sith Lord quite like Fallen Order did.

03:34Following Kal's victory over the Second Sister, Vader arrives on the scene to settle

03:38matters personally.

03:39Very quickly, it becomes clear that Kal is in way over his head.

03:43As evident from the lack of a health bar, Vader isn't a boss to be bested.

03:46He's a walking game over.

03:48All you can do is run as he destroys the arena around you with the Force.

03:51That's right, Vader in this game is so beastly he turned a souls-like into a pure platformer.

04:05Undertale

04:11Going down the genocide route eventually turns all enemies you come across into fodder, even

04:15the bosses.

04:16By increasing your level of violence, the fallen child can hack away at anything in

04:19their path without worry of death, save for the final challenge.

04:23It's here that the normally lackadaisical Sans reveals himself as a monster with immense

04:27power in his own right, turning the entire menu screen against you, unleashing one insta-kill

04:31attack after another and forcing you to play things his way.

04:34The highlight of this has to be when he offers players one last chance to choose the pacifist

04:38route and instantly eliminates you if you take the deal.

04:42He's the Underground's strongest jokester and won't let you forget it anytime soon.

04:52Mikala Steals Your Heart – Elden Ring

05:12There are a fair few bosses across the Lands Between who come armed with abilities that

05:15will instantly drain the entirety of your health.

05:17This also applies to the likes of Redan, the newly anointed consort of Mikala.

05:21As if this final battle wasn't arduous enough with Mikala drastically boosting Redan's strength,

05:25he also has an underhanded tactic for any Tarnished unfortunate enough to get caught

05:29in his grasp.

05:30If you're not in possession of Mikala's Great Rune and he embraces you twice, then the so-called

05:34kind deity will entrance you with his magic and make you fall in love with him, which

05:39in this instance is the equivalent of death.

05:41That's right, Mikala's god Riz can lull you into a game over if you let him get too up

05:45close and personal.

05:51Reading Your Memory Card – Metal Gear Solid

06:03While Kojima continues to find ways to turn gaming conventions on their heads, one of

06:06the greatest examples occurred in Solid Snake's PlayStation debut back in the day.

06:10And yes, it's all centered around the antics of Psycho Mantis, forcing us to switch controller

06:14boards to overcome his mind-reading was already brilliant, but nothing tops the moment where

06:18Psycho Mantis reads through your gaming history, even pointing out a few titles such as Castlevania

06:23and Contra.

06:27Metagaming wasn't exactly a thing back then, so when Psycho Mantis pulled us out of a bag,

06:31it blew more than a few minds.

06:38Defibrillator of the Gods – God of War Ragnarok

06:55You know that a fight is personal when one side goes out of their way to revive the other

06:58because they haven't gotten their fill of bloodlust yet.

07:01After getting the all-clear from Odin, Thor goes out to try and bring the hammer down

07:04on Kratos as revenge for the death of his sons.

07:07After getting wrecked by Mjolnir, it appears that Kratos is down for the count.

07:10There's even a cutaway to a loading screen, only for it to be revealed to be a fake-out,

07:15with Thor reviving Kratos by using his hammer to restart his heart, just so they start round

07:192.

07:20The commitment is almost admirable.

07:28Great Sage Savagery – Black Myth Wukong

07:38Want to become the next Wukong?

07:40Well, good luck, because to do so, you're going to have to battle the remnants of the

07:44previous one.

07:45And he's not going to make it easy.

07:47Taking on the Stone Monkey was trying enough, but the Great Sage's broken shell is on

07:50a whole other level of difficulty and disrespect.

07:54Mistime your attacks or get caught off guard, and this boss won't just punish you by obliterating

07:58your health bar, he'll also taunt you right to your face, either by kicking your weapon

08:02back at you while you're down, or stealing your own gourd for a quick swig.

08:05Wukong is truly a god like no other.
