00:00Before the underground tours are due to pause, we went to...
00:04Tours? Where shall we go today?
00:06We're back at National Coal Mining Museum of England and we've seen Santa at breakfast,
00:11we've seen him in a winter wonderland, I've seen him in all types of geysers
00:16and now we're going to see Santa down pit!
00:20140 metres underground, Cap House colliery to be exact.
00:27We went for this very special festive experience.
00:31Anyone who goes on school trips in Yorkshire tends to go to the National Coal Mining Museum
00:37and experience the epic underground tours,
00:40but they are temporarily closing so they can replace the winder in the lift.
00:45Anyway, the pit was pimped up.
00:49It was time to put on our hard hats, hand over our contraband,
00:53aka mobile phones, so I'm afraid this is where the filming stopped,
00:58and head to see Santa in his grotto.
01:02Once we had resurfaced, our ticket included a free shortbread in the canteen
01:08or the cafe at the National Coal Mining Museum of England.
01:12It was then time for a quick shop at the gift shop.
01:18We went 140 feet underground and you woke up in time to see Santa
01:22and get a gift in his grotto underground, didn't you?
01:25Down pit, and you got more than a piece of coal.
01:29It was such a fabulous experience, venturing down pit, a bit of history,
01:35lovely volunteers and something a bit different.
01:39Then it was time for a quick stop at the Grumpy Friar, the local chippy, on the way home.
01:47The Christmas tree's a happy, happy day.
01:52Good, good!
