00:00There may not have been something borrowed, blue or old, but as for the new, having enough
00:11breath to say I do after a park run might just fit the bill.
00:14It's a five kilometre aisle, that's pretty good I think.
00:17In true park run style, it all started with a bit of friendly competition.
00:22We chatted about marriage and Elspeth said I'll only consider it if you can get below
00:2820 minutes in the five kilometre run.
00:30It was a couple of months of hard work but I finally got there.
00:33I just thought you've got to set goals for yourself in sport and in marriage.
00:36Just an hour and a half after their weekly Saturday morning run, Colin and Elspeth got
00:41married on the shores of Lake Ginninderra in Canberra's north.
00:44This is the first time I'll be wearing sneakers as a bride weight and running shorts and a
00:48running singlet.
00:49Pink shorts and a pink running top and we even got pink shoes.
00:54The couple's family and friends were there to celebrate, as were many of their fellow
00:58park runners, in a nod to the community that helped bring them together.
01:01I was actually running and I got mixed up in the crowd here and they were really friendly
01:07and so I thought if you can't lick them, join them because I then joined and I got really
01:11hooked.
01:12That love of running and exercise and being outside just spilled over into I think a genuine
01:17relationship which developed between us.
01:19A knot that's now firmly tied.
