00:17this is the beat-beat of the Bicycle Response Unit or BRU in Naga City, Camarines Sur,
00:22in responding to accidents on the road.
00:25When the local government was established,
00:27the Department of Health B.O. and the Health Office of Naga
00:30provided basic life support and first aid to the volunteers
00:34to help the victims of road crashes and other road emergencies.
00:39It would be very helpful
00:42that they can be inside the road during the day
00:45and if an ambulance can bring them there.
00:49The BRU has a big role to play
00:52because they can respond to accidents and emergency situations
00:56using their bicycles.
00:58The BRU has 25 volunteers
01:01who will go around the city using their bicycles
01:04starting from the LGU while the first aid kits come from the DOH.
01:08For now, the BRU will volunteer first
01:11while they are still studying how to pay their salaries.
