00:00This is a program for the NPAJ and there are a lot of booths in Reruai.

00:09In Reruai, the NPAJ works with KPJ, Ambang Puteri, and they focus on men's health.

00:17When it comes to men's health, especially men over the age of 40, they focus on prostate health.

00:24We have a free trial from Dr. Tam, who is a specialist.

00:32I chose this particular awareness because it is specific to one segment of society,

00:39which is men over the age of 40.

00:43In this group, my awareness is very low.

00:47When I turned 40, my wife told me to do research on prostate health.

00:56So I took care of it.

00:59But not everyone is like that.

01:01Sometimes men don't like to maintain their health.

01:10Prevention is better than cure.

01:12When we try to promote this culture, especially in Malaysia, we go to the elderly.

01:17If you ask a doctor, they will tell you that people are depressed,

01:20they feel like a suicidal person.

01:23Because it involves men's health.

01:25Specific diseases to women's organs also affect psychologically.

01:29So we have to pay attention, we have to raise awareness.

01:33Actually, to be honest, most of these prostate cancers are asymptomatic.

01:38This is why the early detection is very important.

01:41But of course, there are some symptoms and signs that are closely related to the swollen or enlarged prostate.

01:49Like urgency, frequency.

01:51Some of the worst cases are incontinence and recurrent infections.

01:57These are the few signs.

01:59But they happen very subtle.

02:01It is not very visible.

02:04So when it is so subtle, most of the men think that this is part of their ageing process.

02:11Of course, the prevention strategy is healthy lifestyles.

02:15Healthy lifestyles like a balanced diet, high in fibers.

02:20And frequent exercise, control of diabetes.

02:25I mean the cholesterol control.

02:29These are some of the ways that we can do to reduce the risk of getting highly prostate cancer.

02:36But if that prevention is not working, then the next step will be early detection.
