00:00First of all, Lightning beat the Blues last night 3-1. Lightning on fire right now.

00:09They've won four in a row. They've won six out of seven games in December.

00:13Keep your eye on Tampa, playing some very good hockey.

00:16And a much different Tampa team this year from years past.

00:19No more Stamco, etc.

00:21But John Cooper getting the crew ready to rock as they hit January.

00:25Because January is when hockey really starts.

00:27For us, we're locked in all year long.

00:30But for a lot of people, they don't start dipping their toe in the water until January 1st.

00:35They want to get through football, get through college football,

00:38and then they start to lock in on hockey a little bit more.

00:40We're in the mix every single day, so we know the Lightning have been playing some very good hockey.

00:44The Kings are in the middle of a monstrous seven-game roadie.

00:49And what you'll find out a lot about me here on this show is I am very in on road trips.

00:55When teams take long road trips, it fascinates me what they do to these teams.

00:59New York area to Pittsburgh, going to Philadelphia, back to Nashville, back to Washington.

01:04That is a long trip for the Los Angeles Kings.

01:07And they smashed the Flyers last night 7-3.

01:11They're playing very good hockey.

01:12But 3-2 on this trip so far.

01:14They're going to back-to-back this weekend to finish off the seven-game roadie.

01:19They go to Nashville tomorrow, and they got to go back east to Washington to play the Caps on Sunday.

01:25Kings are a very good hockey team, but be careful there.

01:28They got themselves a lot of days off at the end of a very long two-week trip.

01:33Be careful with the Kings this weekend in Nashville and in D.C.

01:37Sens beat the Flames 3-2 in overtime last night.

01:39We said the Lightning are hot.

01:40The Senators are hot as well.

01:43They have won five in a row.

01:44They have won seven out of eight.

01:46They have moved into a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, playing great puck.

01:51They will finish off their trip to Western Canada this weekend.

01:55They will be in Vancouver in Edmonton.

01:57They've already won two games on this trip.

01:59This is a tough trip for the East Coast teams.

02:01They've kind of built Seattle now into the trip that goes Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.

02:07Seattle becomes part of it.

02:08Ottawa's already won two games here.

02:10They won in Seattle, and then they won last night in Calgary.

02:13Just like I'm saying with the Kings, maybe a play against this weekend with how busy Ottawa's been.

02:18I know they've been on fire, but no team in the East, even the best teams in the East,

02:23have a very hard time just rolling through that entire Western Canadian road trip.

02:29Watch the Senators this weekend as they've got to play it back-to-back with Vancouver and Edmonton.

02:33My last note from last night that I'll give you is the Chicago Blackhawks.

02:37How about a 3-1 win over the Kraken, who usually smash them?

02:41Kraken had a great record against the Hawks.

02:43The Blackhawks have now won three in a row.

02:46All of those games at home.

02:48Here's the problem.

02:49They're going to Calgary on Saturday, and the Blackhawks are an awful hockey team.

02:55They stink.

02:56And now they're going to go on the road.

02:57At home, okay.

02:58On road, no good.

02:59Calgary on Saturday.

03:01Make sure you look at some numbers there when they come out, either late tonight, early tomorrow morning,

03:05when they have the Blackhawks in the building there at the Dome.
