00:00A viral video of Musk and Meloni kissing is AI generated.
00:08A video is circulating online that apparently shows Tesla CEO Elon Musk sharing a passionate
00:14embrace with Italy's Prime Minister, Giorgio Meloni. The video has been shared across social
00:20media, including X and Instagram, and is often accompanied by some sort of caption suggesting
00:25the pair's affection for one another. This one, for example, says e amore, or it's love in Italian.
00:31Sometimes a variation of the video shows a similar, but perhaps slightly less intimate,
00:36kiss. In this one, Meloni keeps her hands behind her back rather than caressing Musk's face.
00:41Bad news for any Musk-Meloni shippers out there though, because these videos have been AI
00:46generated. There are some classic tell-tale signs that this is the case. If you look closely at the
00:51pair's hands, you can see they appear distorted and blurred at certain points. The characters'
00:56facial features change as they move as well, so much so they don't even look like Meloni and Musk
01:01at times. Other figures in the background are also blurred. The fake videos appear to have been
01:06generated off the back of Meloni and Musk's meeting in Paris for the reopening of the Notre
01:11Dame Cathedral. Real pictures from the event, which gathered leaders and other high-profile
01:16figures from around the world, show the pair smiling and laughing together. The images prompted
01:21a widely shared meme online, hinting at a possible romantic relationship between Musk and Meloni,
01:27which some dubbed Musk-Loni. One of the images in particular appears to be the basis for the
01:32fake videos, with Meloni looking at Musk adoringly. It's not the first time the Italian Prime Minister
01:37has been paired with other prominent figures due to her expressive nature. She's previously caught
01:42the eye of social media users for her interactions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and
01:47former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. For more fact-checks, take a look at Euronews.com.
