Addressing Western skepticism about the Oreshnik missile, Russia's President Vladimir Putin proposed that both sides select a designated target to be protected by U.S. missiles.
He also described the Oreshnik as a modern weapon, though it is based on previous Russian design developments.
Russia first launched the Oreshnik missile at the Ukrainian city of Dnipro on Nov. 21, which Putin framed as a response to Ukraine's use of U.S. ATACMs ballistic missiles and British Storm Shadows to strike Russian territory, with Western approval.

00:00There are no chances to shoot down these missiles.
00:06If the Western experts you mentioned believe so, let them offer us and those in the West and the United States who pay for their analysis to conduct some kind of technological experiment,
00:24let them conduct a high-tech duel of the 21st century, let them determine an object for destruction, let's say, in Kyiv,
00:36let them concentrate all their air defense and pro-aircraft forces there, and we will strike there with a nutcracker and see what happens.
00:45We are ready for such an experiment.
