00:00Many, many WASPI women will be appalled at the report or the statement that the
00:04Secretary of State has made, but they will look at the proceedings today and would
00:08they be right in concluding that this government were prepared to resolve the
00:13pensions of mine workers but not of WASPI women?
00:17True of state.
00:18We are prepared to take difficult decisions if we would think that they
00:22are fair and they are right and that's why we've taken this approach on the
00:26issue of how the state pension age was communicated between 2004 and 2007.
00:32We agree with what he says about maladministration and for the three
00:36action points that I have said, to make sure we have a clear and detailed
00:39action plan to learn all the lessons, to give people sufficient notice in
00:42future of their state pension age increases and to have a detailed, detailed
00:46program of communication about the state pension going forward.
00:50Those I think are firm actions to show that we have learnt the lessons
00:53from this report.
