00:00The 12 students from University Malaysia Terengganu who assaulted a fellow student are believed

00:06to have accused the victim of breaching human norms, say police.

00:12Terengganu Police Chief Kairi Kairuddin said this was believed to have led to the group

00:16beating up the 20-year-old student in turns, Bulletin TV Tiga reported.

00:23He said medical officers have confirmed that the victim did not suffer internal bleeding

00:27or broken bones, suffering only bruises, and he will continue to be monitored.

00:35Kairi also said the victim was believed to have been beaten with a wooden stick, although

00:39further investigations were ongoing.

00:43A medical officer confirmed that the victim had suffered blunt force trauma to his arms,

00:48waist, chest, abdomen and leg.
