Russian troops are closing in on Pokrovsk from the east and south. According to different sources, Russian forces are between 1-3 km away from the city's logistics hub on the western edge of Ukraine's Donetsk region.

00:00Russian troops are closing in on Pokrovsk from the east and from the south.
00:09They are now approximately three kilometers away from this key logistics hub sitting on
00:15the western edge of Donetsk region.
00:17The UK defence ministry states they are approaching the south of Pokrovsk after the capture of
00:22Shevchenko village just south of the city, around two to five kilometers away from Pokrovsk.
00:28Shevchenko itself lies at the intersection of two routes leading into the town.
00:33So the UK defence ministry assesses that Russia will likely continue to make gains towards
00:38Pokrovsk while also continuing to advance westwards to the centre of the town.
00:43The Institute for the Study of War reported, according to Russian mail bloggers, Russian
00:48forces drove Ukrainian forces out of Novotroitsk, this is southwest of Pokrovsk, and advanced
00:54in these areas south, southeast and southwest of Pokrovsk.
00:59Now Pokrovsk is the key stronghold in the southwestern part of Donetsk region, holding
01:05back Russian forces from advancing further towards Dnipropetrovsk region and the regional
01:10capital of Dnipro, home to one million people and serving as the main hub for Kiev's operations
01:18in southeastern Ukraine.
