00:17They submitted the paperwork to local authorities only recently, asking to have Starbase be
00:22incorporated into its own town, with SpaceX writing as part of that submission to continue
00:26growing the workforce necessary to rapidly develop and manufacture Starship.
00:31We need the ability to grow Starbase as a community.
00:34According to the company, thousands of personnel already live on site and generate quote, hundreds
00:38of millions in income and taxes for local businesses and government.
00:42Now county judges will have to review the petition and verify that incorporating a Starbase
00:46city will comply with all state and local requirements.
00:49They will also need to hold an election to finalize leadership for the new municipality.
00:54Starbase has had a busy year with test launches, with its next set for January 2025.
00:59The launch will include yet another booster rocket recovery at that very launch site.
