00:00We are here to start this important two days of the General States of the Protected Areas,
00:09an appointment strongly wanted by the Ministry of the Environment, on the one hand to meet
00:14all the operators of the sector, we are obviously talking about the representatives of the Governance
00:21of the various Protected Areas, of the environmental advisors, of the military bodies of the State
00:26that contribute to the protection of the territory together with the Protected Areas, and we are
00:32also trying to involve the environmental associations to contribute to the adequacy
00:40of Law 394, which we know is the law that disciplines the Protected Areas on our territory.
00:47It will be an important two days of debates, of proposals, of suggestions that we will try
00:54to meet within a summary document that we will release at the end of these two days.
01:03There is the will shared by the vast majority of people present here today to make a contribution.
01:09The law must be absolutely adequate, but the importance of this meeting is not only
01:15in the adequacy of the law, but in the possibility of continuity to the confrontations within
01:23the Protected Areas, which represent the interests of the Protected Areas and must try to find
01:31within this confrontation those that will be the proposals that will be directed in the coming years.
01:36There is an imbalance between the Parks and the Protected Marine Areas, but above all there is a perception
01:41in the collective imagination that is less than the importance that the Protected Areas have.
01:46We are trying, through these two days, to change, as they say at the moment,
01:53the paradigm. We must try to make sure that the Protected Areas, which by the way represent
01:59a considerable part of the national territory, we are talking about 23%, certainly below those
02:04that are the indications of the European Union, can enter the daily lives of the Italians.
