00:16President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. signed three bills

00:20in the first day of the week,

00:23including amendments to the Agricultural Tariffication Act,

00:27Value-Added Tax Refund for Non-Resident Tourists,

00:30and Basic Mental Health and Well-Being Promotion Act.

00:33This is just a proof of the government's commitment

00:36to improve the lives of farmers,

00:38Filipino businessmen, and students.

00:42On Tuesday, the President himself

00:44issued the North Luzon-Expressway-Candaba 3rd Viaduct

00:47in Pulilan, Bulacan.

00:49According to the Executive Board,

00:50this project will serve as a pathway

00:53for economic growth in Central Luzon,

00:55especially that it will speed up the travel

00:57not only of motorists,

00:59but also of services and products.

01:02This is also a time, especially this holiday season,

01:05when many Filipinos will return to their provinces.

01:09The President also led the groundbreaking ceremony

01:11of the Overseas Filipino Workers Hospital

01:13Bagong Pilipinas Cancer Care Center

01:15in San Fernando, Pampanga,

01:17a level-one specialty hospital

01:19with a 50-bed capacity

01:21that can provide services to OFWs

01:24and their families.

01:26On Wednesday, the President introduced

01:28the 13 individuals and organizations

01:30in the 2024 Presidential Awards

01:33for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas.

01:36The President praised the Filipinos

01:38for their hard work

01:40and for their great contribution

01:41to their professions and communities

01:43in other countries.

01:45Again, the President confirmed

01:46the continued implementation

01:47of the government's steps

01:49to improve the well-being of OFWs,

01:52as well as the assistance of the government

01:54in other countries

01:55to strengthen labor agreements

01:57to ensure that OFWs will be protected.

02:01The President also led

02:03the Pulong with the Private Sector Advisory Council

02:06where he approved the recommendation

02:08to strengthen tourism in the country,

02:11as well as the launching

02:12of the Shopping Festival Philippines

02:14that is being held this holiday season.

02:17The President also issued a directive

02:19on reviewing the PISAC suggestion

02:22to improve the immigration experience

02:24of foreign tourists

02:25through the Digital Identification System

02:28that will help with the proper transaction

02:31and faster travel processing.

02:33On Thursday, the President led

02:35the 2nd Joint National Peace and Order Council

02:37Regional Peace and Order Council Meeting

02:39in Campo Crame

02:41where he led the Law Enforcement Entities

02:43and Anti-Corruption Agencies

02:45to strengthen their efforts

02:47against the operations of POGOs in the country.

02:50Here, the President also reiterated

02:51that the country will not do anything

02:54to make the situation in the West Philippine Sea worse.

02:57The President also led the Pulong

02:59on the importance of a peaceful electoral process

03:02in the Moro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

03:04The upcoming election there

03:06will serve as a pathway, according to the President,

03:08for the spread of peace in Mindanao.

03:12On Friday, the President joined

03:13the graduation rites of more than 600 new officers

03:16of the Armed Forces of the Philippines

03:18that ended

03:19in the Major Services Officer Candidate Course

03:21of the AFP.

03:22He recognized them

03:23for their courageous acceptance

03:25of the responsibility

03:26to defend and protect the country.
