00:00But, here is where I'm trying not to overstate the importance of this game.

00:07This is an MVP caliber quarterback that the Detroit Lions are facing this week and if

00:14you take a look at his skill set, his skill set and the talent around him is comparable

00:21to the Eagles quarterback's skill set and the talent around him.

00:29Detroit, to make a run at the Super Bowl, they may have to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles.

00:36And I think the Buffalo Bills and the Philadelphia Eagles have comparable quarterbacks, although

00:41this one's probably better at throwing the football and his weapons in the throw game

00:46might be better as well.

00:47The running back in Philly is better.

00:49I've said might be, but the running back in Philly is definitely better.

00:54I really, I mean, I think the Bills have an emerging star and we'll get into that, but

00:58the bottom line is, I'm looking at this as not only a test of a team that the Lions could

01:03face in the last game of the season should they make it.

01:07It also represents a test of what they will face if they have to face Philly in the playoffs.

01:14It's an MVP caliber quarterback and probably playing better than Hurts right now.

01:19I think it's pretty safe to say he's playing better than just about everybody, but Hurts

01:23has the same skill set.

01:25That's why I'm trying not to overstate this, but we always talk about the regular season

01:28when you're a team like the Lions, you're trying to check all the boxes along the way.

01:32Hey, you can win on the road.

01:33You can win against quality opponents.

01:35You can beat a good defense.

01:36You can win in bad weather.

01:37You can win when you don't play well.

01:39Can they beat an elite dual threat quarterback?

01:42Well, this is a big question to ask, and obviously this is a monster quarterback, talented to

01:49go after.

01:50I do agree with you.

01:51It's kind of a preview of what you would see if you're going to take on the Eagles.

01:58At some point, but I like what's happening here because it feels like the last few weeks,

02:06maybe teams have been able to run on the Lions and that's not what we were used to because

02:10for the first eight, nine games of the season, nobody was getting anything on the ground

02:14against the Lions.

02:15They were one of the best teams in the league against the run, but then injuries have just

02:20ravaged that defensive line.

02:22But if you're getting Aleem McNeil back, you're getting DJ Reader back, if you're getting

02:29Josh Paschal back, if you might be getting Levi Anzarique back, those are four big pieces

02:34to get back along with all the guys that have helped out along the way.

02:39I love this line from DJ Reader after yesterday's practice.

02:44They were talking to him.

02:45Hey, you're going to be able to play after you missed the Packers, given a shoulder injury.

02:48He said this and I quote, I'll be out there thugging.

02:53I'll be out there Sunday thugging, so I'm good.

02:59He invoked thuggery.

03:05Well, look, I mean, it makes me feel good to hear him say that because he is spectacular

03:19So is Levi Anzarique, Trevor Nowoski out.

03:22But there are problems.

03:23He'll be out there thugging dog DJ Reader.

03:28The Bills, they got two feet of snow yesterday and canceled practice.

03:31They did virtual meetings ahead of this huge game.

03:35And because they're so banged up, they did a walkthrough practice on Wednesday.

03:38Yesterday was supposed to be a padded practice.

03:40They may go through an entire week without a padded practice, which I guess is pretty

03:44unusual.

03:45At the National Football League level.

03:48But they did.

03:49They are getting Keon Coleman back.

03:50He's been out for about a month with a wrist injury.

03:53No practice for three guys in the secondary for them on Wednesday.

03:58Russell Douglas with a knee and the two safeties, Demar Hamlin and Taylor Rapp, haven't practiced

04:03this week either.

04:04It'll be interesting to see if they're depleted.

04:07Everybody else is practicing, if I'm not mistaken, though.

04:11When you got three guys in a secondary that haven't, right, that that that's not good

04:15if you're the Bills and you're trying to stop the Lions offense.

04:19The Bills are an interesting four game stretch themselves because they've this is I'm sure

04:23when they looked at the schedule, they were like, whoa, and this is game for that stretch.

04:28Kansas City, San Francisco at the Rams at Detroit.

04:32They won the first two at home and then they lost the game against the Rams.

04:37That was a shootout.

04:39Is that a template on how you beat the Buffalo Bills?

04:42Well, Stafford was insanely efficient in that game.

04:45It was actually, I think, his second highest rate of game since he's become a Ram.

04:49He really, really was dealing, but the Lions have a quarterback that can deal as well.

04:54Jared Goff and this passing game dialed in, but I don't think it's the passing game.

04:59It's the key.
