00:12Thank you so much, studios. My name is Garfield Buford. You've joined us right here at Yellow House where there are, of course,
00:18meetings being held ahead of tomorrow's 20th anniversary of the formation of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America, or ALBA.
00:27This will be the 24th summit of the ALBA-TCP initiative tomorrow here in Venezuela, and anticipation continues to build for that.
00:35Several officials of the member states of ALBA were, of course, in this meeting here at Yellow House today.
00:41They have been, of course, engaging in discussions ahead of tomorrow's 24th summit.
00:47They were addressed by Venezuela's Foreign Affairs Minister, Ivan Gil, who spoke about the timeliness of this meeting,
00:54the importance of this summit, the importance of ALBA in a world where there are so many geopolitical uncertainties.
01:01He said that ALBA has to be positioned as a powerful actor in the geopolitical space,
01:08and he also said it is important for ALBA to embrace the struggles of Palestine.
01:14He says every bomb that drops on Gaza is essentially not only affecting the Palestinian people, but also affecting our collective humanity.
01:22He says ALBA must embrace this struggle and take it on as a significant cause of humanity.
01:28By the way, ALBA will, of course, invite members of the State of Palestine for this summit tomorrow here in Venezuela.
01:37That will be a highlight of the summit marking the 20th anniversary of the ALBA initiative.
01:42Also here will be members of the Honduras delegation, and they will, of course, be participating.
01:49Also, CELAC, the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, also represented here in Venezuela,
01:55and will also be participating in that summit on Saturday.
01:59One of the other key issues that was raised was by the Secretary General, the Executive Secretary of the ALBA-TCP initiative.
02:07That's Jorge Arias. He spoke about the importance of this summit.
02:12He also said it is important that ALBA be seen as a crucial geopolitical force in the world at this point.
02:20He says it is very timely coming at a time when there are so many geopolitical tensions across our world.
02:27So, all in all, anticipation building for tomorrow's 24th summit of the leaders of state, the heads of state and government here in Venezuela.
02:35Of course, officials now looking ahead with that work meeting ahead of what will take place here in Venezuela.
02:42Significant discussions taking place and significant anticipation building.
