South Korean President Yoon faces second impeachment vote over failed martial law

If Yoon is impeached, his powers will be suspended until the Constitutional Court decides whether to remove him from office and if he is removed, an election to replace him must be held within 60 days.

00:13On Friday, opposition parties submitted a new impeachment motion against the President.

00:19Saturday's vote will require support from 200 of the 300 National Assembly members

00:25and only then will the matter proceed to the Constitutional Court.

00:29Last week, an attempt to remove the President failed as the ruling party blocked the impeachment vote.

00:35Refusing to resign, the embattled Yun, in a televised speech on Thursday,

00:40declared that he would fight to the very end and defend his decision to seize control of the country.

00:46Yun's short-lived December 3 martial law declaration has generated political chaos and large protest calling for his ouster.

00:55The declaration was the first of its kind in the country in more than 40 years.
