00:00This is the historic former site of Sheffield's Castle in the city centre, where a new £19.65
00:07million park is taking shape. For the first time in more than a century, the River Sheaf,
00:13which was previously buried underground, has been opened up to public view where it meets
00:17Seddon. The river will run through the new park, scheduled to open in summer 2026, where
00:24remains of the castle, including its old gatehouse, will be on public display, and a 500 capacity
00:29event space will be created. The site was most recently home to Sheffield's old Castle
00:35Market, which closed in 2013 when the market moved to the moor, and was subsequently demolished.
