00:00Seth likes to say that I'm ordering the dessert.
00:02When he's ordering, he'll always be like,
00:04and she'll have the blah-de-blah.
00:06Hi, Delish, I'm Meredith Marks,

00:11Coffee is the first thing in the morning.
00:14It is absolutely essential.
00:16I am not functional without it.
00:18If I'm with Seth, he brings me coffee in bed,
00:21preferably a cappuccino.
00:22But if I'm not with my husband,
00:24then unfortunately I have to get up myself
00:26and get my own coffee, and that's not so fun.
00:29If I'm at home, I will just have black coffee.
00:32But if we pick it up from somewhere,
00:34here in New York City, I usually will go to Motto.
00:37In LA, I go to Blue Bottle, Alfred's.
00:41In Park City, we usually make coffee at home
00:44just because it's a little further to get to a coffee shop.
00:47So it depends on where I am.
00:51If I'm sitting down to have breakfast at home,
00:53I don't have a huge appetite in the morning.
00:55But if I'm going to do something
00:57that's more along the breakfasty lines,
00:59I like scrambled eggs with caviar on top,
01:01a little bit of Meredith Marks Caviar for breakfast.
01:03Meredith Marks Caviar can be a meal, it can be a snack,
01:06it can be breakfast, lunch, dinner in between.
01:09You can have caviar pasta, caviar pizza,
01:11caviar tacos, caviar eggs, caviar everything.
01:15When I'm out for breakfast,
01:17if I'm going to eat a more breakfasty thing,
01:20again, I might have scrambled eggs
01:22or I might have Eggs Up Easy
01:24or an egg white omelet with vegetables
01:27is always a good thing.
01:28But a lot of times I just order regular food for breakfast.
01:31I don't like anything sweet in the morning,
01:33like the pancakes, the waffles, the French toast.
01:35I don't dislike them, but they make me not feel well.
01:38So that's my least favorite.
01:40Anything sugary in the morning
01:41on an empty stomach does not go well.
01:43Fruit, once in a blue moon, I kind of crave,
01:46but for the most part,
01:47I really just eat berries and cherries.
01:51For lunch, if I'm just working at home,
01:53I do order in dim sum a lot.
01:55That's a go-to for me, for sure.
01:57When we're filming, it's usually not up to me
02:01and I usually have to kind of work with what is offered.
02:04I'm definitely not a sandwich girl.
02:06I'm either like a salad person
02:09or some kind of like a protein-like piece of salmon.
02:12In LA, I love to order in the lascala salad.
02:14Basically, it's almost like if you took the insides
02:17of an Italian sub and chopped it up in a salad.
02:19Chopped salami and garbanzo beans
02:21and a little bit of onion, lettuce, a little cheese.
02:25I'm not the only one who likes it.
02:27I love Stein Erikson in Deer Valley.
02:31They do like a gorgeous lunch for all the skiers
02:34that come in and it's incredible
02:35because it has all kinds of like shellfish.
02:37I'm a huge shellfish person.
02:39They have like prime rib to oysters, shrimp, sushi, pasta,
02:45everything under the sun.
02:46The only thing is, is you kind of have to plan on that
02:48being your only food for the day
02:50because it's like overwhelmingly fabulous.
02:54I'm not a huge snacker.
02:56I don't like have the biggest appetite
02:58and I really enjoy dining.
03:00If I'm going to lunch, I enjoy lunch.
03:02I enjoy dinner.
03:03I usually don't snack a lot.
03:06In fact, if I know like I have a special dinner,
03:09I usually will eat a very, very small lunch
03:11so that I can enjoy my dinner.
03:13I mean, if I'm going to go to junk food,
03:15my go-to is always gonna be potato chips, for sure.
03:20So dinner would typically be some kind of like a salad
03:23or at least a green vegetable of some sort
03:26if I don't have a salad.
03:27But it's always gonna be some kind of a protein,
03:29whether it's steak or fish or chicken or shellfish.
03:32Like I said, I mainly gravitate towards fish and shellfish.
03:36I eat much more of that than anything else.
03:38Big on sushi, a lot of sushi.
03:40Octopus, I love octopus.
03:42Only when it's like really well done,
03:43you have to boil it before you cook it.
03:45Not that I've ever cooked it myself, but I should
03:48because I feel like I'd be really good at it
03:50just because I'm like an expert eater.
03:52But I love good octopus.
03:54There's nothing I love more.
03:55I'm huge on sharing.
03:57I don't really like to order my own food.
03:59So like Seth and I will go to dinner
04:01and we'll share whatever we get.
04:02Or if I'm with a friend, I'm always like,
04:04will you share, will you share?
04:05Because I'd rather take a few bites of a lot of things
04:07than eat a lot of one thing.
04:09What about takeout?
04:10So takeout, I'm kind of picky on too
04:13because a lot of food doesn't transport that well.
04:16I do find usually sushi's fine.
04:18Chinese usually is fine for takeout.
04:21For me, dining is an experience
04:22and I love to go out to dinner.
04:24I really do.
04:25It's like a very important part of my life.
04:27Walk me through like a typical Meredith Marks dinner.
04:30Typical dinner, first course,
04:32I would say would be like either traditional caviar
04:35or you could do like a little baby caviar potatoes
04:38or caviar potato chips, whatever they have.
04:40But I would always like to start there.
04:42And then I would say clean, like green salad
04:45with some kind of a vinaigrette
04:47or oil and vinegar sort of dressing
04:49or even just a little olive oil.
04:51And then pasta course with some caviar
04:54or truffles or something fun like that.
04:57And then I would say Dover sole and spinach.
05:01I love spinach just like plain.
05:02I love it sauteed.
05:04I love cream spinach.
05:05I love spinach.
05:06If I've been out and it's late and I get home
05:09and I didn't have dinner, I will get something.
05:11That's when we end up in the fast food world
05:14because a lot of times that's all that's available.
05:16If I had to have a late night snack,
05:18I think my order would be a McDonald's cheeseburger.
05:21Unless I'm really hungry, then I would get fries with it.
05:23But the fries are the really unhealthy part.
05:25I try to stick to the cheeseburger,
05:27which is just a little unhealthy.
05:29So for drinks, I mean, I drink coffee, tea, wine,
05:35vodka, occasionally tequila,
05:38occasionally a margarita or a martini.
05:41What's your go-to cocktail?
05:42My go-to cocktail would probably be a Belvedere
05:45up with a twist and a glass of ice on the side.
05:48I like to spoon the ice in because it slows me down.
05:51I drink slower.
05:54Not huge on dessert.
05:55I am probably more likely to order a cheese tray
05:58for dessert than something sweet.
06:00Seth likes to say that I'm ordering the dessert.
