A dad who had to work on his daughter's birthday still made sure he could celebrate with her - by releasing balloons as he drove past.

Video taken on December 4 in Linyi, Shandong, shows three-year-old Wanwan on an overpass with her mum - waiting for a special surprise.

Her dad's truck approaches and Wanwan can be see waving as he honks and flashes his lights.

Before he drives underneath the overpass, he releases balloons from the truck's cab as a birthday celebration.

As the balloons float above her, Wanwan can be seen skipping with joy from this touching gesture.
