00:23Good afternoon to you and to all the listeners and viewers of our station. Good afternoon.

00:32Attorney, when did the application for the special permit of PUVs for this holiday season open?

00:40It started on Monday. We are giving it now, which will take effect on December 20 up to January 5.

00:54Originally, it was supposed to be on December 15, but the board said it's too early.

01:01So we postponed it, but the length of time was extended until January 5.

01:09They can now get a special permit for buses that want to travel to the province.

01:18How is your preparation for the holiday Christmas rush this year?

01:23And what security and safety measures are you preparing, especially for the terminals across the country?

01:31I have an order to all my people in LTFRB.

01:36Number one, they are in the bus station and make sure that before the bus leaves,

01:44their route to their destination is secured.

01:49For example, if you are applying to Manila, to Ilocos Norte,

01:56and you will go to Bico, you should not copy that.

02:02Number two, we are also monitoring the arrangement of the bus.

02:07It should be roadworthy. That's why before the bus leaves, we are inspecting it.

02:14Finally, number three, we have people in our terminals.

02:20If you lack special buses, there are on-the-spot people who will give you a special permit.

02:28In other talks, despite the approval of LTFRB for the additional 5,000 slots of TNVS,

02:37it is still difficult to find or book taxi or TNVS commuters now.

02:45What are the benefits of LTFRB to address this?

02:50Ma'am, when we did our research, even if we approved 5,000,

02:58as we saw, 5,000 people are not traveling at the same time.

03:05Half of them are part-timers.

03:10This is just ride-sharing, those who are going to the office or going home, who want to earn a little.

03:17So this is not totally an answer to the transport problem.

03:23That's why what we are doing is, we are persuading those who have TNVS,

03:29that they should extend their trip.

03:34We also know that the price of ride-hailing services here in Metro Manila is a bit expensive.

03:43Are there any updates on LTFRB regarding the so-called surge fees?

04:09We cannot do anything about the 5,000.

04:13This is the maximum that we can give for now.

04:17Hopefully, this will be satisfied.

04:21Although, on the other hand, we are talking to the regular taxis that are allowed to travel.

04:31Same thing with motorcycle taxis.

04:34We're asking them to take regular route.

04:38Based on our studies, most motorcycle taxis are part-time drivers.

04:46They only go out before 8 o'clock and 5 o'clock and on Saturdays and Sundays only.

04:55Regarding the surge fees, are we doing anything to lower the so-called surge fees or increase the price,

05:06especially for ride-hailing services?
