00:00I'm sure you get the question all the time, like what the secret is, but what has worked

00:03for you, do you feel like?

00:05I mean, a big part of it is the commitment you make, right?

00:08If there's a spark and there's love in the beginning, then you can always come back to

00:12that.

00:13So trying to remember that the valleys or the lows or the times when you don't feel

00:16that connected, you can ride that out and it makes the peaks even better.

00:22Sometimes getting through the rough stuff makes the good stuff so much more worthwhile.

00:28And so I think that everything comes and goes in seasons, people change, marriages change.

00:33So I would just say, if you made that commitment and it's just getting stale, that's not a

00:40reason to work through stuff or be open, be honest.

00:47We base our marriage in trust, so I think trust is the basis of our relationship and

00:52I would hope for most people that is, I think that that's a great foundation to build it

00:56on.

00:57If you could go back to day one of parenting, what would you tell yourself?

01:02Sleepless nights with a baby is not as bad as sleepless nights with a teenager.

01:05A teenager?

01:06Oh no, no.

01:07Really?

01:08Is it?

01:09Yeah.

01:10Yeah.

01:11Small kids, small problems.

01:12Yeah, big kids, big problems for sure.

01:15My son just did burnouts with his truck and the tires are trashed and have to be replaced.

01:21So that was a big mistake that I was like, and it just seems like Christmas gifts get

01:26more expensive.

01:27I thought like, oh, it'd be easier when they're older and can tell me what they want.

01:30And now it's like, no, I can't, I'm not buying you a PC or a Dodge Charger or, it gets interesting

01:40when they get older.

01:41I'm just trying to keep that relationship.

01:42But I think probably the best advice I would give myself, actually I did give someone my

01:47hairdresser this morning, I gave him advice on, well not advice, but he's having a baby

01:51three years after the first one was born.

01:52I was like, oh, that's good timing.

01:53That was good timing.

01:54Because I was like, I did it with two years between the first two and four years.

01:58And I was like, that was too long.

01:59This was too short.

02:00Three years is a sweet spot.

02:01Way to go.

02:02I feel like that too.

02:03Yeah.

02:04It was two years and it's a lot.

02:05Repeating and potty training is at the same time is like the worst combination.

02:10Nobody tells you this.

02:11Yeah.

02:12You're like, you don't do anything except sit in the rocking chair and sit by the toilet.

02:16And you're like, this is all I have time to do for a year.

02:18It's so true.
