00:00Coach, you, uh, you announced the Zach Martin, uh, surgery yesterday and that his season
00:20will be over. Uh, can you just talk about in general what Zach Martin has meant to this
00:25locker room while you've been here and, and how he's impressed you as a, as a player and
00:31a leader, not only as your time here in Dallas, but, you know, when you were a competitor
00:35on the other side in Green Bay.
00:37Uh, definitely. I mean, I, I think, you know, number one, um, you know, for Zach to be recognized
00:44for the Walter Payton man of the year award, you know, it's clearly one of the greatest
00:48individual honors, um, in, in all sports. Uh, I think it clearly shows the type of man
00:54at the individual that he is. I mean, he, he's represented this organization, you know,
00:59the team, the locker room, both on and off the field.
01:02And it's such a, you know, high-class manner. Um, you know, I think we all, you know, we
01:08start these conversations, uh, because of the type of player he is, um, his play on
01:12the field has been super consistent. I mean, he's a annual pro bowler and we'll see nine,
01:1710 pro bowls and his career. And, um, but he's, he's, he's that person every day too.
01:23And I think just, you know, the consistency that he was able to, you know, illustrate
01:28on the field is that they're playing at a pro bowl level each year. Uh, but he's even
01:33more of that, more of that for us as a man. And, uh, you know, we're, we're definitely
01:37going to miss him.
01:38Is it, is it a little weird when a player gets to this stage of their career, which
01:42obviously Zach Martin's talked about it himself that like, yeah, I can kind of see light at
01:46the end of the tunnel. It's getting near the end of my, my time here in the league. Is
01:49it a little odd that when, when something like this happens, like you want to heat praise
01:53on them and talk a little reflectively while also balancing like, Hey, let's not memorialize
01:57somebody who has, has not made any decisions about what they want to do with the rest of
02:00their career.
02:01Oh yeah, definitely. No, that's, um, I mean, he's, well, you know, he's focused on getting
02:06healthy and, and, uh, you know, I just think that, you know, this is the hard part of the
02:11game. You know, it's, um, no one, you know, no one really gets to go through this game
02:17with, without, you know, the, the injury challenging, you know, and just for his season to come
02:22to an end.
02:23Um, you know, like I said, we're going to, we're, you know, we're going to miss him,
02:26but, uh, you know, he'll still be here, you know, as far as the everyday stuff. Uh, but
02:30yeah, yeah, definitely. I mean, this is, uh, this is all part of this challenge that we're
02:35having this year as a team.
